WE PROMOTE ETHICAL MANUFACTURING
MANUFACTURING PRINCIPLES
Crafteli is following three principles in manufacturing:
- Ethical manufacturing set-up
- Sustainable Sourcing
- Italian-inspired manufacturing concept
Why Ethical Manufacturing?
Philippines is known to be one of the countries that employ female-dominated garment workers who are paid by what they produce. The set-up is commonly called sweatshops. This practice may be cost-effective but the downside is that it results to poor quality, as the main focus is on quantity.
Crafteli / Willix Inc. put up his own factory and employ regular employees and does not promote nor practice this sweatshop manufacturing set-up.
Crafteli/Willix supports the initiatives of Fashion Revolution. Workers are paid with basic salaries, overtime fees, holiday pays, medical and government-mandated benefits.. Crafteli sewers and production crews also work inside air-conditioned rooms for comfort.
Now, Crafteli/Willix has proven that following a more ethical manufacturing set-up makes good business sense as it resulted to better quality and higher productivity.
Why Sustainable Sourcing?
Crafteli/Willix believes in the phrase "think globally, act locally", as it urges us to consider the health of the entire planet and to take action in our own communities and cities. As a policy, we source our raw materials from known ethical brands like Mimaki printers (from Japan) and Kiian ink (from Italy), as these companies demonstrate a strong commitment to ethical manufacturing practices through adherence to stringent certifications and a focus on eco-friendly solutions in support to the Sustainable Development Goals of the United Nations.
,
We use quality threads from known innovators like Coats but licensed and produced locally by a company a few kilometers away from our factory in the Philippines. We promote “Proudly Filipino” concept by buying our quality fabric from local manufacturers and distributors.
Finally, we believe in the Filipino craftsmanship and train local residents to do critical processes in our factory.
Why Italian-Inspired?
Manufacturing is an art in Italy. That is why all employees, including the owner, view themselves as artists. This is the artisan concept that guides Crafteli in its day-to-day operation as a manufacturer of custom sublimated sportswear. As artisans, Crafteli employees try to visualize perfection even before the first stitch is sewn.
